Looking to maximise your earnings from exported solar energy? Our SEG / Export League Table highlights the most competitive export tariffs available to UK homeowners.
The table is ranked by each supplier’s best guaranteed fixed export rate, as fixed tariffs provide certainty and allow homeowners to accurately estimate potential returns. Variable and time-of-use export rates are not used for ranking, as they fluctuate and can’t be reliably compared.
Some suppliers listed also offer variable or smart export tariffs, which are explained separately where relevant. We regularly review tariffs to keep this table up to date as new SEG options become available.

* Please note: The information provided in our SEG/Export tariff league table is to the best of our knowledge - suppliers may change their rates at any time, hence we would recommend confirming exact rates and terms and conditions with your chosen supplier before committing (last updated January 8th, 2026).
Good Energy offers two export tariffs for solar households, paying you for the electricity you export back to the grid. One is a standard export rate available to Good Energy electricity customers, and the other is a higher fixed export rate reserved for customers who had their solar + battery installed through Good Energy Solar (and approved partners).
Solar Savings Exclusive pays a fixed export rate of 25p per kWh for a 12-month term. It’s available to eligible customers who had both solar panels and battery storage installed via Good Energy Solar (and approved partners). After the fixed term ends, customers typically roll onto the standard Solar Savings export tariff.
Solar Savings pays 15p per kWh for exported electricity and is available to Good Energy electricity customers with solar panels. This is a variable export tariff, so rates can change for new and existing customers over time.

EDF Energy offers a range of Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) tariffs, including several fixed-rate export options for customers who install solar panels (and batteries) through EDF, as well as more flexible variable export tariffs available to a wider audience.
Below we outline EDF’s current export tariff options, starting with the highest guaranteed fixed export rates, followed by EDF’s variable SEG tariffs.
Export Exclusive 12m V2 is EDF’s highest fixed export tariff. It pays a guaranteed 24p per kWh for electricity exported to the grid over a 12-month fixed term. This tariff is designed for customers who install solar panels (and optional battery storage) through EDF.

Export 12m is a fixed-rate SEG tariff paying 15p per kWh for exported electricity. It’s suitable for EDF customers who want a guaranteed export rate without opting for EDF’s exclusive solar bundles.
EDF’s SEG Export Variable Value tariff pays a lower, variable export rate that can change over time. This option is suited to homeowners who prefer flexibility rather than committing to a fixed export contract.
SEG Export Variable is EDF’s most flexible export tariff, offering a variable rate with no fixed contract. It’s accessible to the widest range of eligible solar installations, including customers without an EDF import tariff.

Octopus Energy offers several export tariffs for solar households, ranging from simple flat-rate export options to smart import-export tariffs designed to work alongside solar batteries. Some tariffs are available to anyone with eligible solar panels, while others are exclusive to Octopus electricity customers.
Below are the main Octopus Energy export tariffs and their eligibility requirements.
Outgoing Octopus is a simple, flat-rate export tariff that pays a fixed 15p per kWh for all exported electricity. It’s ideal for homeowners who want predictable export payments without time-of-day pricing or battery optimisation.
This tariff is available to eligible customers and does not require a battery.
Octopus Flux is a time-of-use import and export tariff for Octopus customers with solar panels. Export rates vary throughout the day, typically offering higher payments during peak demand periods and lower rates at off-peak times.
Unlike Intelligent Octopus Flux, battery control is managed by the homeowner rather than automatically by Octopus. Export prices are variable and are not guaranteed at a fixed pence-per-kWh rate.
Intelligent Octopus Flux is designed for Octopus Energy customers with solar panels and a compatible home battery. Rather than paying a fixed export price, this tariff uses smart, time-of-day pricing to encourage exporting electricity during periods of high demand.
Export rates vary depending on time of day and market conditions. When paired with a compatible battery, Octopus can intelligently manage charging and exporting to target higher-value export periods automatically. Exact rates are not fixed and may change.
